Hearing stories from peoples own lives always has me hooked straight away. That’s got to be why Jesus told stories. We just love a good story! Why do thousands of people watch soaps, tv drama and films? The story.

So this blog is all about us routing through the craziness both online and off, finding things that we hope will inspire YOU.

I love to get inspired! When something inspires me it often goes round and round in my head and I have a massive urge to send it to as many other people I think will love it to. I design and create in my job everyday, so I always make sure I start off my morning by checking out some new, fresh, crazy design that blows my thinking! It helps me be more creative, grows my ideas and pretty much makes work way more fun.

WANT TO BE INSPIRED? WELL OK THEN.

God made us with a personality and emotions, we’ve all got likes and dislikes, hobbies and interests, stuff that moves us and makes us tick. To stimulate and grow all that…we need inspration! Inspiration pushes us to be fully alive and where better to get life-giving inspiration than the Creator Himself…Jesus!

So without further ado I present to you our first source of inspiration, which we hope will change your life.

Our first Breathe event of 2010 and it was great to start off a new year with so many of the Breathe crowd back in force! This month we were looking at “Putting God First” with Lucy Smith bringing the nuggets of wisdom to get our teeth into.

For some of you, your new year might have started really well. The birds were singing, angels with harps have serenaded you to sleep on a nightly basis, and bars of dairy milk have floated from the sky into the very palm of your outstretched hand. Or you might have had a really naff start to 2010!

Either way…how do we go through the year, trusting God that He is good, no matter what situation we find ourselves in? What are the keys to holding on tight to God? Well…check out the talk from Lucy @ Breathe below! We hope it blesses and rocks your socks off.

Like so many, we’re gutted about the situation in Haiti, and want to do all we can to help.  Getting on a plane and getting your hands dirty might scare the pants off you, but so many of our mates are doing exactly that.

We got to sit in on a conference call hosted by Tearfund with over 80 people from around the world getting updates from residents and Tearfund workers on the ground in Haiti.  Hearing the stories first hand really brought it home that we can’t even begin to know what it’s like for the families and communities that have lost so many loved ones.

Some of what Tearfund is doing is sending out a bunch of people to help, along with a load of supplies that people need out there.  One Tearfund worker said that they would be needing to find enough food to feed thousands of people for at least the next three months.

The guys who are over there have asked us to pray that they know how best to dish out all the aid, making sure it gets to the right people in time, and that even though it’s kicking of a bit, the teams would stay safe.

Maybe you, your family, youth group or church could consider giving.  On Tearfund’s website is all you need to donate some cash, and find out what you can be praying for.

Follow two of Manchester’s finest as they carry aid to Haiti

Finally, our mate, Andy Hawthorn (CEO The Message Trust) has flown out to Haiti with a team from Lemon Aid, and the Pastor of Ivy Manchester, Anthony Delaney.

They have taken, literally a ton of emergency medical supplies to be taken to an emergency surgical unit set up in Port-au-Prince and a hospital on La Gonave, an island west of the capital.  Visit the Message website to keep in touch with updates and find out how you can help.
